Why glass? I love to work with light and color. What better medium is there to weave these two elements? And with glass, the possibilities are virtually limitless.
At working temperature – 2000 degrees – the metals (the source of color in glass) become active, and new colors arise. Each color has its own relationship to the glass – determining how it flows and at what specific temperature it becomes soft.
I like to let the colors dictate some of how the work develops, giving it a more fluid look – both in form and color. With glass, I never stop learning. There is always something new to explore.
